Media Development
Training Facility, Media Equipment for Hire, Media/Communications Training Services Available in Kathmandu, Nepal 
Panos South Asia offers a state of the art communications training facility at subsidised rates for I/NGOs and other development agencies. Located in Kathmandu, Nepal, the PSA Media Centre is equipped with 10 work stations/computers with WiFi, LCD projector, as well as other media equipment such as video cameras, audio recorders, audio and a television studio. The facility can accomodate twenty five people for workshops, trainings, consultations and meetings;and 20 people for technical hands-on trainings, such as on digital presentation, internet, social networking tools, online/internet publishing/broadcast, blogging, audio-visual digital editing and production. Back-up power generators are also available to ensure hassle-free training. ...More
 
Panos South Asia announces Internet Broadcasting workshop for Community Radios in South Asia 
 In a bid to address the need for the community radios to build their capacity to raise their voice beyond the community level, Panos South Asia is organizing a five-day workshop exclusively for community radios in South Asia titled ‘Internet Broadcasting for Community Radios in South Asia’ at its Media Centre in Kathmandu, Nepal from 13 – 17 September 2010. The five-day workshop shall orient the community radios on the concept and applications of Internet broadcasting, and hands-on on actually creating Internet radio or broadcasting. Panos South Asia launches Choti Choti Baatein,the first of its kind community radio programme by children in Patna, Bihar 
Panos South Asia has successfully launched Choti Choti Baatein, a radio programme by  children in Bihar on 19th July, 2009.This programme provides a platform to the children to bring to the fore their immediate concerns as well as issues critical to their communities.
Choti Choti Batein commenced broadcast  at 11:30 am on All India Radio Patna's primary channel as a weekly half- hour programme.  The launch for the public and press was held simultaneously at the scheduled broadcast time, at Sri Krishna Memorial Hall, Gandhi Maidan,Patna and was attended by over two hundred school children

We are organising an 8-day South Asia workshop on ‘Climate Change and Multimedia Communications ’ from 17th – 24th August 2009 in Kathmandu, Nepal. The Workshop aims to build the capacity of media and other communication practitioners on climate change issues and the role of communications by applying ICTs for local content development, networking, knowledge sharing, to enable them to produce multimedia local contents on climate change communications in South Asia.

To commemorate World Press Freedom Day, Panos South Asia is organising a 2-day sub-regional conclave on ‘New Media Technologies and Freedom of Expression’ on 3rd and 4th May, 2009 in Kathmandu. Those interested in presenting papers are invited to submit a 500-word abstract on three categories of 1) New Media Technologies and Mainstream Media; 2) New Media Technologies and Citizen Journalism; and 3) New Media Technologies and Freedom of Expression/Information. Panos South Asia presents its report on ‘Reinforcing Dalit leadership and mainstreaming in Nepal’ 
The publication ‘Reinforcing Dalit’s leadership and mainstreaming in Nepal: Learning from across the Border’ is the result of the visit of a Nepali Dalit delegation to India to learn from the lives and times of Dalits in the world’s largest democracy. With the aim of reinforcing the Dalit leadership movement mainstreaming in Nepal, the delegation comprising Dalit media, activists and leaders of the country visited institutions in four Indian cities: Delhi, Lucknow, Mumbai and Chennai. The reports disseminate the information and knowledge gathered from the visits in the hope of influencing the political transition process in Nepal. We present the reports in English and Nepali.

Panos Pakistan in association with the Pakistan Women’s Media Network and the Saneeya Hussain Trust organized a seminar to celebrate women’s achievements in media, and to take a fresh look at the challenges they face in realizing their rights and their potential. The seminar titled “Looking Back, Stepping Forward, Striding Ahead” was held at the Karachi Press Club on 11th August 2008. Panos South Asia holds Consultative workshop on Community Radio in Shillong 
In a bid to increase awareness in the Northeast about the new Community Radio Act, Panos South Asia held a day-long workshop for mediapersons and advocacy groups in Shillong on 31st July, 2007. Deliberations dealt with the essential features of Community radio like Community ownership & management, Community participation and the signature non-profit nature of the endeavour. Panos Radio South Asia's radio magazine 'Panoscope' on air  
After a year of online broadcasts, 'Panoscope', Panos Radio South Asia's  radio magazine is now being aired on Ujyaalo 90 FM. While in Kathmandu,tune in to Ujyaalo FM at 90 Mhz FM frequency to listen to 'Panoscope',Friday mornings at 8.15.
Ujyaalo 90 FM is broadcast at 90 Mhz with a 1000 KW transmitter from Kathmandu.
